Industries In Panagarh

Panagarh is growing as an industrialised hub of West Bengal, India. Panagarh has already a wide range of industries and many more new industries are coming up making it one of the biggest industrial hub in eastern India.

West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation Limited (WBIDC) is setting up a modern Industrial Park over 1458 acres at Panagarh in Burdwan district. Panagarh-Kanksa belt is a favorable destination for industries due to the availability of industrial infrastructure and climate. It is well connected with road and railway. Sufficient power is available for the prospective industries at the park.
Details of the Park

  • The industrial park is spread over 1458 acres of land under Ausgram-II, Galsi-I and Kanksa block.
  • The project site is well connected by roads with Kolkata, the state's capital, located approximately 150 km in south-east direction.
  • The site is bounded by National Highway No: 2 connecting it to the Delhi. Site is also connected with NH - 34 and Panagarh-Moregram State Highway.
  • The park is well connected by railways. The nearest railway station is Panagarah at 0.8 Km from site.
  • The park is very close to the Durgapur industrial zone.
  • Nearest Airport- Proposed Andal Aerotropolis.
  • DVC canal is passing through the site.
  • The anchor unit of the park M/s. Matix Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. has set up their unit in the park in approximately 500 acres of land.
  • All prospective investors are entitled to incentives available as per West Bengal Incentive Scheme.

Infrastructural Support at the Industrial Park
  • WBIDC is to develop the requisite infrastructure for the park. Contractor has already been engaged for the development of infrastructural facilities.
  • Roads: All the plots within the park will be connected through arterial roads of 30 m, 24 m and internal roads of 18 m, 15 m width. The construction of road is under process.
  • Drainage: Storm water drainage network will be constructed along both sides of arterial and internal roads.
  • Power sub-stations: WBIDC has handed over two plots to WBSEDCL for setting up of 33/11 KV Substations and one plot to WBSETCL for setting up of 220/132 KV Substation. Power tariff will be as per the existing tariff plans.
  • Water supply: Supply of Industrial and potable water from the nearby DVC canal. Ground water can be used with the approval of appropriate authority till surface water is made available.
  • Other facilities: The park area will be serviced by street lighting, sewerage system, common effluent treatment plant, solid waste management system etc.

MATIX :- Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals is building a greenfield fertiliser complex with a capacity of 3 MTPA in Panagarh, West Bengal. In Phase I, the company is investing Rs. 5000 crores (approximately US$ 1.1 billion) to set up a 1.3 MTPA single stream 2,200 metric tonnes per day (MTPD) Ammonia plant and 3,850 MTPD Urea plant along with associated offsite and utilities. The plant will use energy efficient and latest technology from industry leaders Kellogg, Brown & Root (KBR), USA and Saipem, Italy.
Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd. will be one of the world's largest single stream plants and the first with a feedstock supply made entirely of coal bed methane (CBM) gas. This will be sourced from the Raniganj block, near Panagarh in West Bengal.
The fertiliser complex, located in Panagarh Industrial Park near Durgapur, adjacent to Highway NH2 and the Eastern Railway Network is easily accessible by road, rail and air.

Maruti Suzuki :- West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) has agreed to grant land to Maruti Suzuki India for setting up a stockyard at Panagarh Industrial Park. WBIDC has agreed to give them (Maruti Suzuki India) 40 acres at Panagarh.

IFB Agro:- IFB Agro Industries Limited is a reputed Public Limited Company. The company is engaged in the business of manufacturing alcohol, bottling of branded alcoholic beverages as well as processed and packed marine foods both for domestic & export markets. IFB Agro has a Country Spirit Bottling plant at Panagarh Bazar, West Bengal.
